Renewed hope for youth and adults with special needs

To find out how can you be part of Dr Vie's life changing movement, the advisory team is hosting the first support meeting on Saturday, 25 January at the Shongweni Market.

In August 2018, only one of over 10 KZN special needs organisations approached by Dr. Vie embraced her vision. Within a day, more than 40 learners with autism, physical, cognitive and learning challenges began their free vocational training.

“The differently-enabled learners would otherwise leave school at age 17 without the prospect of valuable jobs or bright futures. Thanks to the visionary principal, Colleen Bailey at Browns’ School, opportunities for her special needs school leavers commenced, making history,” said Dr Vie.

Parent, Juliet Blose, who is also on Dr. Vie SCH advisory team said they are grateful for the opportunities that Dr Vie has presented to their children.

“Dr Vie has equipped them with skills that would last them a lifetime as they will become entrepreneurs and be able to stand on their own. There are many things that Dr Vie is teaching the children, including food, clothing, gardening and my son Afikile loves the garden.”

Blose added that as parents, they would now not worry about what would become of their children should they pass away.

Since January 2019 local SuperSPARS have listed Dr Vie SuperFoods® vegan products made at the centre which is 100 per cent funded by Dr Vie and her mother.

Dr Vie SCH mission is to renew hope for special needs South Africans through national SCH Vocational Centres where all special needs youth can thrive, optimise their gifts and be valued contributors to transforming Planet Earth.

The advisory team is hosting the first support meeting on Saturday, 25 January from 11.30 am to 1pm at the Shongweni Market for families of challenged locals to discover how to be part of the movement.
