#MatricResults: Here are some of Highway’s top learners

Star College's top learner, Yashlen Nadesan Odayar achieved 10 distinctions and was ranked second in KZN in Independent Schools.

HILLCREST High School’s top learner Jyothishna Jugdaw made her family and school proud with her outstanding matric results and eight distinctions.

She also was selected to attend the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation’s scholarship selection camp, the final round in their very stringent selection process.

To get this far in the process is an outstanding achievement – Jyothishna was one of 1366 students to apply and then one of 356 to be interviewed and qualified for the selection camp.

Following Jugdaw is Hanru Jansen van Rensburg who achieved seven distinctions for his NSC exams and one distinction for an IEB subject. He will be studying electrical engineering.

Westville Girls’ High School’s top learner is Newaal Nadvi who obtained seven distinctions, all As were above 90 per cent and she achieved 100 per cent for Physical Science with an overall aggregate of 95 per cent.

Star College’s top learner was Yashlen Nadesan Odayar who achieved 10 distinctions and was ranked second in KZN in Independent Schools.

He achieved an overall aggregate of 94 per cent.
