IEB matric results: Thomas More College

IEB schools in the Highway area celebrated the outstanding achievements of their 2019 matriculants.

THOMAS More College’s matric class of 2019 did themselves and the school proud with a 100 per cent pass rate and a 97 per cent Bachelor’s Degree pass. There were 20 A aggregates, 33 B aggregates and an average of 2.3 distinctions per learner.

The school’s top candidate was Daniel Barrett with 8 distinctions and an aggregate of 91.6 per cent. He was also in the top 1 per cent for mathematics, accounting and life orientation.

Sinead Smith achieved an aggregate of 90 per cent and 8 distinctions and was placed in the top 1 per cent for Afrikaans, English, history, life orientation and life sciences.  Necolin Naidoo received 7 distinctions and an aggregate of 88.9 per cent.

“Thomas More College is delighted with the exceptional results achieved by its class of 2019. With a grade average of 71.3 per cent, the College is proud of every single child. These results speak to a wonderful team effort of our staff, parents and children. We know that the personal challenges every child has overcome along the way stands them in good stead to make a positive impact in the world,” said the high school headmaster, Dave Wiggett.
