WATERFALL couple, Stan and Brenda Wade will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary surrounded by family and close friends.
The welcoming couple were married at the Montclair Methodist Church on 20 December 1969, a church where they caught each other’s eye.
“Brenda was dating a friend of mine and when he told me that they have broken up, I took that opportunity as I liked her very much. She was very pretty and sophisticated. I could not compare her with any other girl,” said Stan.
Brenda said Stan’s army uniform attracted her, “I saw this man standing at the church, he was so good looking and seemed to be a responsible person.
“When he called me a few days later, I was like ‘wow, how lucky am I’,” said Brenda with a sparkle in her eyes.
After four years of dating, Stan made it official and they got married, “Brenda has been the most fantastic wife and mother. She never ceases to amaze, she has a big heart and goes out of her way to help others and she always put other people first.”
According to Brenda, Stan has been the person she always wanted to be with. “He has been a wonderful father who worked very hard to provide for us and has brought us much joy over the years.”
The couple said that they enjoy touring and have been all over the country.
They have four children and six grandchildren.
