Highbury spreads Christmas spirit

A voluntary collection was taken at the end of the services for the Ethelbert Children’s Home, so they too can be blessed with the joy of Christmas.

CHRISTMAS at Highbury is one of the most magical times of year. The excitement started early, as the children created Christmas decorations, held Christmas concerts and prepared for the school’s carol services.

Highbury’s team of class mums transformed the media centre foyer into a Christmas wonderland, all with eco-friendly reused or recycled ‘trees’ and decorations.

The boys, staff and parents joined together in celebrating the birth of Jesus with the annual carol services held over three evenings. The 80-year-old Highbury Chapel was beautifully decorated and provided the perfect backdrop to the foundation phase and senior primary choirs as they sang Christmas carols.

The Christmas story was retold through word and song, an age-old Highbury tradition and a voluntary collection was taken at the end of the services for the Ethelbert Children’s Home, so they too can be blessed with the joy of Christmas.
