Enjoy fabulous outdoor rooftop movie nights this festive

This festive season, The Event Express is bringing family and friends together for a relaxed movie night under the stars.

WHEN last did you do a movie night with the family, or even a date night with your significant other?

“When my hubby and I were dating (in the early 90s), we used to love going to the drive-in in Vereeniging (although we didn’t watch too much of the movie…we were too busy smooching). Nowadays, a movie night for us consists of watching something on the couch at home (and I’m generally asleep five minutes in, which infuriates him),” said A List’s Alice Leah.

This festive season, The Event Express is bringing family and friends together for a relaxed movie night under the stars.

Their rooftop outdoor cinema (admittedly more of a walk-in than a drive-in), is something totally unique to do these holidays.

The movies chosen for screening were selected based on a poll that was run on The Event Express’ Facebook page – how cool is that? A movie democracy.

When and what movies:
16 December: The Holiday
20 December: The Notebook
21 December: The Smurfs Christmas Carol
22 December: The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
26 December: My Best Friend’s Wedding
27 December: The Greatest Showman
28 December: Mrs Doubtfire
29 December: Christmas Chronicles
[If the weather is inclement on any of these dates, there will be alternate dates made available].

The events take place at 62 Umhlanga Ridge Boulevard, 6th floor (rooftop), New Town, Umhlanga Rocks (close to Old Town Italy). Free undercover parking!

Gates open at 5.30pm. Movie starts at 7pm or when it gets dark and ends at 9.30pm.

Food and drinks will be on sale at the event, no BYO allowed.

You are permitted to bring along blankets and cushions, but chairs will be provided for seating.

Tickets can be purchased from Quicket or directly from The Event Express (info@theholidayexpress.co.za or 082 730 4917) for R100, R150 VIP and R180 vvip.

All A-List fans get R10 off per ticket when you mention that Alice sent you (please book direct with Angela to get the 10 bucks off, not via Quicket).
