DigsConnect, your answer to student accommodation

The IIE’s Varsity College partnership with DigsConnect.com makes it easier than ever to find a student tenant.

DigsConnect, Africa’s largest online student accommodation marketplace, has formed a partnership with the Independent Institute of Education’s Varsity College, aimed at alleviating student accommodation challenges.

This collaboration will provide students with an online platform where they will be able to access safe accommodation options within an 8 kilometre radius to all eight of The IIE’s Varsity College campuses.

Through The IIE’s Varsity College website (https://www.varsitycollege.co.za– a “space” the students are already using extensively for a variety of online student services, DigsConnect accommodation and properties will be advertised.

While the relationship exists between the landlord and the student, The IIE’s Varsity College is introducing a process whereby students will go out and verify that the advertised DigsConnect properties meet standards to protect students from scams or false advertising. These listings will then be reflected on the platform with an IIE’s Varsity College logo on them.

Students will be able to make use of the DigsConnect online platform to create accounts, filter their searches by prices, as well as the type of accommodation that they would prefer.

Says Louise Wiseman, Managing Director of The IIE’s Varsity College: “We are committed to providing our students with a holistic tertiary experience which will now include access to a professional online accommodation marketplace. We have spent a number of years seeking an answer to our student accommodation challenges.

“The fact that DigsConnect is extending its services to other cities and institutions could not have come at a better time, and it is our hope that, in the not too distant future, we will be able to provide accommodation solutions exclusive to The IIE’s Varsity College students through DigsConnect.”

DigsConnect was established two years ago by “accidental entrepreneurs” Alexandria Procter, Greg Keal and Brendan Ardagh as a fresh and modern solution to the perennial student housing crisis that affected a significant amount of students across South Africa.

If you have suitable accommodation in the Durban area and would like to look at the option of listing this for FREE then go to www.digsconnect.com and complete the ‘add a digs’ process or Contact Ashley at Ashley@digsconnect.com to get set up.
