Annual parade honours fallen heroes

The 91st ceremony was hosted and administered by the MOTHs of the Better 'Ole Shellhole in Pinetown.

THE Wayside Cross annual ceremony celebrated its 91st birthday this year.

The ceremony was hosted and administered by the MOTHs of the Better ‘Ole Shellhole in Pinetown and was attended by council dignitaries, military, police, MOTH, veteran organisations, St Johns ambulance, The 1st Pinetown Cubs and Scouts and the community.

Dignitaries included councillor Geoffrey Pullen, Colonel Acutt (retired) and Ward 18’s councillor, Melanie Brauteseth.

Life-Time Honorary vice president of the South African Legion, Peter Swindell, was the guest speaker.

Old Bill, Fritz Brand thanked the MOTH Order, King Shaka Regiment, KZN Signals Unit, 15 Maintenance Unit, Metro Police, Umvoti Mounted Rifles and community for their continued support of the event.
