31 Club tea raises grand sum for charity

A massive effort by the volunteer members of 31 Club Charity KZN culminated in a substantial amount of funds being raised at this hugely successful event.

THE annual 31 Club Charity KZN hosted its annual Grand High Tea at St Agnes Church Auditorium recently.

The 300 guests were treated to an African-themed event and an entertaining talk by French conservationist, Francoise Malby-Anthony who, along with her late husband, Lawrence Anthony, known as ‘the elephant whisperer’, set up the Thula Thula Game Reserve just outside Empangeni, to care for 800 troubled elephants in 1999.

Learners from the Kwa-Thintwa School for the Deaf charmed guests with their energetic and rhythmic dance routines.

The cappuccinos flowed and a feast of decadent, sweet and salty snacks were beyond delicous.

All funds raised will be used towards the purchase of desperately needed goods for the several charity organisations that 31 Club support in the greater Durban area.
