Patrons open hearts for HACT

Michelle Donne's Comrades Marathon fund-raiser campaign for HACT kicked off on a high note at the weekend.

ELVIS rocked the house at a fund-raiser event at Le Domaine in Hillcrest recently.

Andrea Giglio auctioned himself off at half time for a private show for R5 000 and the proceeds were donated towards Michelle Donne’s Comrades Marathon campaign.

Michelle, an avid runner and supporter of the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust (HACT), has started her fund-raising early in a bid to raise as much as possible before the big race next year.

HACT’s CEO, Candace Davidson, delivered a powerful and thought-provoking message and created much-needed awareness of the epidemic that South Africa currently faces.

“The Comrades 2020 slogan is Dare to Dream and I did just that when planning this event. In total I raised about R18 000, so I am feeling very chuffed,” said Michelle.

She thanked Di Ward from Le Domaine for providing the venue, Andrea for the superb entertainment and Leonie from Bonne Chance for the delicious dinner.

“There is no greater joy, nor greater reward than to make a fundamental difference in someone’s life. It is an honour, a blessing and a privilege to be able to do that,” said Michelle.
