Bittersweet farewell for Thomas More College’s matrics

The 96 matric learners at Thomas More College are now beginning their prep for their final exams.

TEARS were shed, hugs were cherished and smiles were shared during a morning of mixed emotions as Thomas More College’s 96 matriculants made their way through a packed guard of honour to their final assembly.

The Grade 12 learners were first treated to a buffet breakfast, handed bio-degradable balloons and a #proudpastpupil t-shirt. En route, each matric learner rubbed the statue of Sir Thomas More and rang the school bell one final time.

Educators, parents, past pupils, as well as hundreds of learners, from creche to Grade 11, formed the guard of honour and clapped, cheered and handed over small trinkets and flowers to the overwhelmed learners as they made their way to the school hall.
