Oui, what an educational journey!

Kloof High School's French language teacher recently took part in a French Teachers' Development Programme - in France!

KLOOF High School’s French language teacher, Courage Mangwiro, recently hopped across the proverbial pond to attend the French Teachers’ Development Programme in Paris. During the two-week course in Nantes, he mingled with educators and professionals from 87 nationalities.

Where did you go? 

Nantes, Paris.

Where was the conference held? 

The University of Nantes.

Why did you go? 

I was excited to attend the annual French Teachers development programme. This is usually attended by a majority of French educators from across the globe. The conference covered teaching the Francophone, teaching French language through Music and how best to teach French grammar.

What was the highlight of your trip?

Discovering new techniques to make teaching and learning French more interesting and learner-centred, where children can participate more within each lesson and are not just spectating, but actually learning how to actively converse in French.

What were your favourite attractions to see in France?

The Le Louvre Museum, La Tour Eifel (Eifel Tower), L’ Arc de Triomphe and a tour of the Moulin Rouge stage.

What was your favourite food experience?

Tasting snails for the first time.
