A car with two women and a toddler plunges into a Pinetown pool

It not clear how the car landed in the pool but police will investigate.

A GOOD Samaritan didn’t think twice before jumping into a swimming pool to rescue a child from a vehicle that had crashed into a swimming pool in Pinetown this afternoon.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, said the Good Samaritan, Ntuthuko Buthelezi, heard the sound of a vehicle crashing into the wall of a neighbouring property and rushed out to investigate.
“When he got to the scene he discovered a large section of the wall had come crashing down when the SUV vehicle veered off the road into it. The vehicle then crashed into  the swimming pool on the property and was almost entirely submerged when he got there.
“He jumped into the swimming pool and pulled out a two-year-old boy who had been travelling in the vehicle with his mother and a relative.
“Redline Response paramedics responded to the scene of the accident to assist the victims who fortunately survived the crash unharmed,” he said.
Mathios said a Glenpark neighbourhood watch patroller and a Blue Security armed response officer and an area manager attended the scene of the crash.”
