Fire contained quickly at Pinetown supermarket

The fire at the Pinetown supermarket was contained within 30 minutes.

A FIRE broke out at a supermarket in Kings Road, Pinetown in the early hours of today.

The Blue Security control room was alerted and the eThekwini Fire Services called.

Multiple fire engines sped to Kings Road and the scene commander assessed the area and a plan of action was implemented.

After 30 minutes, the fire was contained.

There was smoke damage and the fire department stayed at the scene for smoke extrication duties.

“It was a great team effort by the eThekwini Fire Services and Blue Security reaction officers. They must be commended for their swift action,” said Blue Security’s Andreas Mathios.
