“Last year was great. This year will be even better. We will start at 9am with music and some Boccia (bowls) games between the various teams,” said organiser, Grant Oosthuyzen.

“There will be an opportunity to play with us and win some prizes as well as a few dance competitions for the kids and the famous wheel chair race,” he said.

Raffle tickets will be on sale for the most awesome prizes.

“The whole idea behind this day is to create awareness about the disabled and a sport that is available especially for the severely disabled,” he said.

Grant has been coaching this Boccia bowls for years at the Cheshire homes and Hillcrest Hospital as well as at special need schools. He is part of the KZN Boccia (disabled bowls team) and is always looking for new players to grow the team.

“Saturday is just fun for all and allows the differently-abled to be a part of the day. Please support this event and make your shopping experience a happy one,” he added.
