Protect your pet against rabies

The Kloof and Highway SPCA's rabies vaccination clinic will be held on Sunday, 25 August.

THE Kloof and Highway SPCA will host its annual rabies vaccination clinic on Sunday, 25 August at its premises, 29 Village Road in Kloof, from 8am until noon.

The clinic will be held in the parking lot near the main reception at the SPCA.

“In KZN, rabies vaccinations need to be done annually so as to ensure the vaccine remains effective. Vaccinating your pet against rabies is not only for your pet’s safety, but is also to ensure the safety of your family and community. It is a fatal disease and the threat of it should not be taken lightly,” said the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s Brigitte Rossouw.

Pet owners are encouraged to bring existing vaccination history. Vaccination certificates will be provided if there is no previous vaccination history.

The cost is a R50 donation per vaccination.

“Please ensure all dogs are on leads and that all cats are contained in secure baskets or cat cages when bringing them to the rabies vaccination clinic,” said Rossouw.
