BREAKING: One person dies on Field’s Hill off-ramp truck crash

The accident happened at the same intersection, at the base of Field's Hill, where 24 people were killed in a horror truck crash in 2013.

RESCUE Care paramedics are currently on the scene of a horrific accident at the bottom of Field’s Hill, where two trucks collided. One person has been confirmed dead.

Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson, currently on scene, reports that there are three people trapped in one of the trucks.

“It is unfortunate that the driver sustained major injuries and passed away,” said Jamieson.

Rescuers, together with advanced life support paramedics, will stabilise the other two people still trapped in the vehicle once they have been freed from the wreckage with the Jaws of Life and other hydraulic tools.

Traffic is severely affected at the intersection of Field’s Hill and Josiah Gumede/Richmond Road and motorists are urged to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
