Hammarsdale school reopens following gruesome discovery of security guards’ bodies

Mpumalanga SAPS are investigating a case of murder, attempted murder and burglary.

LEARNERS and educators of Ukusa High School in Mpumalanga, Hammarsdale are receiving counselling following the gruesome discovery of two bloodied bodies of security guards last week Wednesday.

The incident, which has left the community shaken, claimed lives of Thandazani Majola (48) and Mncedisi Ntuli (30).

Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Bongumusa Manqele said the principal of the school stumbled upon the two bodies.

A third security guard was also badly injured.

Manqele said in a statement that when the school principal arrived in the morning he found the gate locked and shouted but no one responded.

“He jumped over the fence and found one injured security guard in a classroom and the other two dead.

According to Manqele, the three security guards were on duty at the school performing their night shift duties.

“The surviving security guard told the principal that they were attacked by unknown suspects. He was then rushed to the hospital.  The police were called to the scene and they discovered that the principal’s office together with the deputy principals office were broken into. They also noticed that there was an attempted breaking in the strong room,” said Manqele.

A case of murder, attempted murder and burglary are being investigated by Mpumalanga SAPS.  No arrests have been made.
