Local firm supports Project Dignity

To help ensure girls don't miss a day of schooling due to menstruation, ActionCOACH Ignite donated 67 Subz Pants and Pads packs to a community in need.

LOCAL business coaching firm, ActionCOACH Ignite, supported Project Dignity, a non-profit extension of Subz Pants and Pads that distributes reusable sanitary wear to schoolgirls from disadvantaged communities.

The team visited a community in Redhill and donated 67 Subz Pants and Pads packs to the young girls who battle to afford any form of sanitary protection. This forces them to stay home from school during menstruation.

“The Subz Pants and Pads packs consist of a set of reusable sanitary pads and accompanying panties. The reusable, eco-friendly sanitary pad clips onto the 100 per cent cotton panty and lasts up to five years. These items can be washed and reused, making them economically and environmentally advantageous,” said the founder of Subz Pants and Pads and Project Dignity, Sue Barnes.

Since its inception in 2010, Project Dignity has donated more than 140 000 packs nationwide, with the list of schools and organisations requiring assistance constantly growing.

“We’re aware that teenage girls who can’t afford sanitary pads are taking time off school and that impacts their education. Our primary focus is education and we felt supporting Project Dignity would make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young women,” said the owner of ActionCOACH Ignite, Darryn Le Grange.
