Andrew epitomises what a Hillcrest High School rugby boy should be, tough on the rugby field, and a true gentleman off the field.

HILLCREST High School’s Grade 12 learner, Andrew Siminyu, has been selected to represent the Kenya U20 rugby team at the U20 World Cup in Brazil from 9 to 21 July.

Andrew was first spotted by Hillcrest High’s rugby coach, Dusty Noble, when he came out to South Africa as part of a Kenyan schools touring team.

Noble said, “Andrew’s talent was evident from the start.”

Andrew’s coach at the time mentioned to Noble that Andrew was interested in improving his rugby in South Africa and Noble knew he would be a perfect fit with Hillcrest High’s rugby ethos.

Since Andrew’s arrival he has been an excellent addition to Hillcrest High’s rugby, both on and off the field. He has made big strides in the rugby field, as well as in the classroom, where he is in the top 20 in his grade.

Andrew epitomises what a Hillcrest High School rugby boy should be, tough on the rugby field, and a true gentleman off the field.

“We wish Andrew all of the best for the tournament. I truly believe he can play at the highest level,” said Noble.
