He plans to do a charity drive in disadvantaged schools in the Highway area by donating blankets, sanitary pads, food as well as hosting wellness events for free.

KLOOF High School’s Aphelele Dlamini (18) and founder of the Durban Business Youth Association, has a dream to empower every young person he comes across with business skills and alleviate poverty.

“Early in my teens I started a photography business and I found that many of my peers and even adults asked me for advice on starting a business. Passing on my skills and knowledge was one thing, but I thought that teaching skills to people who don’t even have basic needs wouldn’t make sense,” he said.

Dlamini met Zungu at a photo shoot and the two realised they had a similar passion to empower young people. They started the non-profit organisation in June, Youth month with hopes of inspiring young people to reach for their dreams and start something.

The two teens plan to do a charity drive in disadvantaged schools in the Highway area by donating blankets, sanitary pads, food as well as hosting wellness events for free.

Injabulo Foundation can be contacted on 076 015 7118.
