Still no trace of kidnapped Pinetown girl

Siphumelele Mzimba (10) is still missing despite police having a suspect in custody.

A WOMAN who was arrested for the disappearance of 10 year old, Siphumelele Mzimba of Nazareth, Pinetown, is due to appear in court on Tuesday, 9 July.

Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele said despite having a suspect in custody, the child is still missing and police are appealing for assistance from anyone who can help them find Siphumelele.

Siphumelele was last seen on Thursday, 13 June, going to a hairdresser close to her home in Mkhize Road. She was wearing a pink skirt and grey top.

The suspect made her first appearance in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 21 June and has been remanded in custody.

When Siphumelele went missing, her parents received an SMS from the alleged kidnapper demanding ransom money of R20 000.
