VIDEO: PACT adoption day offers a new lease on life for rescued pets

June's final Doggy Adoption Day for PACT in Kloof might be the right place to meet the canine companion of your dreams. Get to Waterfall on Saturday, 29 June for a barking great day out!

PHOENIX Animal Care and Treatment (PACT) organisation will host its final adoption day for June on Saturday, 29 June, at Rainbow Drive, Crestholme, in Waterfall.

At the Doggy Adoption Day, as they have named the event, Highway residents will have an opportunity to meet some of the great dogs that are currently looking for adoptive homes.

What is PACT?

PACT is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing care and medical treatment for animals in the Phoenix area, but they have found that people from all over Durban are keen to adopt some of the animals they rescue.

The organisation, which admits it has an idealistic vision of a future where animals within the community it comes from are all properly looked after, strives to educate the community on responsible animal care.

“We imagine a future where most animals in the Phoenix area are sterilised, fed and treated with love and respect in the community,” it explains on its Facebook page.

Since its inception, PACT has rescued approximately 12 000 animals, sterilised 6 500 animals over the past 6 years and takes on the daily feeding of over 80 animals.

“The PACT team together with our 15000 Facebook followers have made this possible. Please have a look at our Facebook page to see the precious lives saved. Please contact us on 0617061119 / 0842395594 for the address of the venue hosting Doggy Adoption Day,” said Shabnam Baran, a spokesperson for the organisation.

You can meet many on Saturday, 29 June, if you go along and support PACT.
