At 7am on Wednesday, 26 June a MOBI-CLAW911 client, who is also the couple’s neighbour, said the female victim ran into her home, screaming that they had been attacked.

According to MOBI-CLAW a message was immediately broadcast to the South African Police Service.

Pinetown cluster spokesperson, Capt Bongumusa Manqele said the victim was stabbed in the head with a sharp object.

“SAPS were quickly on scene and established that the couple had been tied up, assaulted and robbed of cellphones and other small electronic goods,” said MOBI-CLAW.

“The suspects demanded money from the homeowners. The victim was allegedly stabbed three time around the neck with a sharp object, and the suspects stole two cellphones and cash to the value of R1 000 before leaving the scene. A case of house robbery was opened at Pinetown SAPS and no arrests have been made,” said Capt Manqele.

The scene was attended to by SAPS, security companies and the neighbourhood watch.
