According to the co-founder of Blue Bundu Brigade, Karen Janisch, who was also part of the search team to find Blue: the dog disappeared after a family member had left the main gates to the property open and was only found 10 days later.
“Our aim is to provide a service to the community to look for lost pets and bring them home,” said Janisch.

The group provides comfort and support to families who have lost a pet, share the vital steps to take to get the word out about the missing pet.
“We network on social media, via Facebook and WhatsApp. So many people share our posts to various groups and pages on Facebook. “Our aim is to establish a good relationship with rescue organisations so we can, in turn, help each other. Our aim is also to fund-raise mostly for vet bills and food,” said Janisch.
There are several rescue organisations that are members of BBB.
Included in its membership are: Animal Antics, Husky Rescue KZN, KZN Valley Dogs, Phoenix Animal Care and Treatment, Paw Prints Rescue and Rehoming, Power-Breeds Rescue and Second Chance Cat Sanctuary.
The organisation also has a fund-raiser on at Candysticks, a South African online fundraising platform, which runs to the end of August and all money raised will be donated to the rescue organisations mentioned above.
The organisation also makes an appeal for unwanted household items towards a flea market that will support all these organisations.
Those who wish to donate can contact Karen on 06243668810, or email: bluebundubrigade@gmail.com.
