Man hit by car under St Johns bridge, police search for relatives

The man told police that his name was Muzi Zulu and he was from KwaMashu but did not give a full address.

PINETOWN detectives are searching for the relatives of the unknown man who was hit by a vehicle while sleeping under the St Johns bridge and Josiah Gumede Road.

Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele said the incident took place on Sunday, 2 June.

“Police arrived on the scene and found that the man had severe injuries in the head, face and body but was still alive.

“He told police that his name was Muzi Zulu from KwaMashu but did not give the full address. He died while waiting for the ambulance to arrive,” said Manqele.

The deceased was wearing black jeans, a brown jersey and no shoes.
