VIDEO: Roaming pooch rescued in Moseley

The dog was taken to the Kloof SPCA and the owner is urged to come forward.

WITH help from the community and a Blue Security reaction officer, a stray dog was finally rescued after a few hours of trying to save it.

A Blue Security reaction officer, Eric Mngadi noticed the dog roaming Old Main Road, near Clairbeth Mews in Queensburgh.

Blue Security community liaison officer, Andreas Mathios said he found Mngadi feeding the dog polony from his lunch to try and gain its trust.

“We called for back up from the Moseley neighbourhood watch as the dog was very difficult to catch. We also called the Kl0of SPCA who responded,” said Mathios.

After some attempts, Mathios said the dog managed to slip out into a busy road and almost got hit by a taxi.

“The dog was finally caught with the help of a kind lady, Pam who managed to put a leash on this boy and gave him water.”

The dog was taken to the Kloof SPCA. Mathios has appealed for people to share the story so that the owner can be located.

“I would like to thank everyone who took the time to try and assist in catching the dog especially Pam and our response Mngadi who did not give up on the dog.”
