Caitlin’s generosity sets her apart

CAITLIN Pillay, a Grade 7 learner at Gillitts Primary School, is its SPAR Star of the Month.

Although she is only 12 years old, she possesses a great sense of responsibility, leadership and integrity. Besides being an A-student, she is also a prefect and the recipient of a merit award for good behaviour, academic excellence and positive contributions to the school.

Goal-driven, Caitlin wishes to pursue a career in the mechanical engineering field once she completes her studies. Her hobbies include reading, chatting with her friends and writing her own stories, as she has a creative flare.

Although she has achieved a lot during her time at Gillitts Primary School, she has remained grounded and show utmost gratitude to her school, members of staff and family for helping her achieve her highest potential. She added that her mom is both her role model and her pillar of strength.

She lives by the motto: ‘No matter how hard you fall, always have hope, because falling down is a part of life and getting up is living. Caitlin said this is also her secret to success.

“Caitlin is truly an inspiration and role model for our learners at Gillitts Primary School. We are extremely proud of her,” said the school’s principal, Arti Jadoo.
