Writer launches book in Kloof

Books will be on sale at R250 each and Adam Habib will be available to sign copies.

JONATHAN Ball Publishers and Friends of Kloof Library invite people to the launch of Rebels and Rage by Adam Habib.The launch will be held at Kloof Junior School, 30 Abelia Road Kloof on Tuesday, 28 May at 6pm.

Adam Habib is the vice-chancellor of the University of the Witwatersrand.

He is an academic, researcher, activist, administrator and renowned political commentator and columnist.

He has more than 30 years of expertise, spanning five universities and multiple local and international institutions boards and task teams.

Habib holds qualifications in political science and earned his Masters and Doctoral qualifications from the Graduate School of the City University of New York.

His book, Rebels and Rage takes a frank look at the student protests that erupted on the Wits campus in 2015 and have continued for the better part of three years.

He critically examines the student movement and individual student leaders who emerged under the banners of #feesmustfall and #Rhodesmustfall.

Books will be on sale at R250 each and the author will be available to sign copies.

Tickets are R35 for paid-up members of Friends, R50 for the public and are available at the door.
