A round of a ‘paws’ for Coco

Coco went above and beyond her results from last year's grading and was awarded top female on show!

THE beloved Coco went above and beyond her achievement of VA at last year’s German Shepard National Show and took the title of Siegerin, the top female on show at this year’s event.

“This award has never been given to a dog from KZN, so you can imagine the excitement,” said Coco’s co-owner, Dennis Trotter.

Coco, or Coco vom Uzyaq as she is officially known, did exceptionally well in protection work as well as in conformation and movement.

“She was a very popular winner with the other competitors and spectators, expertly handled by Nico Pretorius and presented superbly fit thanks to her trainer, Kelly Clowes,” said Dennis.

The show is held annually and the gradings of VA and the title Siegerin are only awarded at the national show, which is held across three days.

There were 339 German Shepards entered into the competition from across South Africa and were judged by two German judges, one for the males and the other for the females.

Coco had 49 entries in her class, which was the top female class on the show.

Coco trains at the Pinetown German Shepherd Club every Saturday morning at Pinetown Girls’ High School and also takes part in normal dog training classes.
