Durban entrepreneur empowers women

Mzobe started Get your business started workshops with women like her in mind and is currently doing an internship at the Department of Education while running an events and deco company.

LOCAL entrepreneur and mom, Sbongile Mzobe, believes women run the world and wants to do all she can to empower young girls and moms to take charge of their finances and well being.

The 28-year-old mother of one has a Bachelor’s Degree in business admin.

Mzobe started Get your business started workshops with women like her in mind and is currently doing an internship at the Department of Education while running an events and deco company.

“The workshops are aimed at helping women, especially moms, to get the advice and ideas needed to start their own business and make their own money,” she said.

Mzobe said she started the workshops after being approached by many women on social media asking her how she started her business and thought it would be great idea to create a platform where information can be shared.

“The last event was in March and I invited different businesswomen to speak on how they started their businesses and share helpful tips on how to juggle it all.

“I want to promote the idea that women can have multiple incomes because in the times we live in, one income is usually never enough,” she added.
