6 thoughtful ways to treat your mom this Mother’s Day

Show your mom how much you love her with acts of kindness. Turn the tables and do the loving things that create endearing memories.

SHOW your mom some old fashioned love and give her time, care and pampering.

1 LET her sleep in. Usually, in homes with young children, moms are the first to wake up and sort out the day and the last one to go to bed. So close her bedroom door and give her some extra time to sleep.

2 WHILE she is sleeping, do some household chores for her, a great gift. Make sure she does not go near the kitchen and offer to make her tea and meals, and most importantly, clean-up afterwards.

3 WRITE her a letter, poem or song of thanks for the countless little things she does to make your life easier: she has baked cupcakes for school at midnight, driven across the city for project stuff or dress-up gear at the last minute, broken the household budget to get you sports gear, trendy clothing, special treats, sat with you until you finally learnt the seven times table and got you through numerous childhood illnesses etc, etc, etc

4 GET your artwork framed as a gift for her as she appreciates your talent like no other.

5 PAMPER her. Run her bubble bath, daughters can paint her nails and give her a back and neck rub. Get dad to buy her favourite beverage and serve it to her on a tray with flowers and her favourite snack.

6 LET her choose the movie and watch it together as a family.

7 TURN off all devices and just sit with your mom and share a great chat.

8 GET out all the old family photos and reminisce together.

9 ENJOY a stroll together in a park or along the beach.

10 GIVE her a big hug and tell her how much you just love her.
