Husband and wife shot in New Germany
Due to the serious nature of her injuries, the wife needed to be airlifted to hospital.
ON Sunday afternoon, a couple were shot by three armed men in Reading Avenue, New Germany.
Reports from the scene indicate that a husband and wife team, who operate a videography business, were in their vehicle at a client’s house when three unknown men approached them and opened fire.
“The husband, who is believed to be in his 50s, was moderately injured. He was shot in his right arm. The wife, also in her 50s, sustained serious injuries. She was shot in the abdomen,” said the media liaison officer for Netcare 911, Shawn Herbst.

Both patients were treated on scene by advanced life support paramedics.
“Due to the nature of the woman’s injuries, the Netcare 5 specialised helicopter ambulance airlifted the woman to hospital. Once stabilised, the man was taken to hospital,” said Herbst.
SAPS will investigate the shooting.
