Emergency services were called to the scene in the early hours of this morning, after an embankment collapsed onto the house.

Four bodies were recovered earlier today; however, operations had to be postponed due to “unstable and dangerous” conditions.

Rescuers recovered the bodies of four children and three adults among the mud and debris. One of the children is around nine years old.

Emergency services also spent hours at a similar incident on Crimbley Road, Westmead.

A total of 10 people were trapped after a mudslide had unfolded last night. Sadly, paramedics declared eight people dead at the scene.

However, two people were stabalised and rushed to a nearby hospital.

Garreth Jamieson of Rescue Care confirmed that the two individuals are recovering in hospital.
