Missing Pinetown Taxify driver’s car recovered in Mpumalanga province

Wife of the missing man, Nelisiwe, is appealing to anyone who can help find her husband who has been missing since Saturday, 23 March.

MYSTERY surrounds the disappearance of Paradise Valley resident, Ephraim Sizwe Ngcobo.

His wife, Nelisiwe said she last interacted with her husband on Saturday night at about 7.15pm when he called her a couple of times saying someone had requested a ride to Johannesburg as he is a Taxify driver.

Nelisiwe said she suspected there might be something wrong after she tried calling him a number of times and received no response.

“We have viewed footage where he is getting into a garage in Mooi River with a white man who seemed to be carrying a weapon at the back of his waist, although it is not clear.

“Other footage at the tollgate shows the man placing a gun on his thighs pointing at Sizwe. We are very confused by all of this,” said his wife.

Taxify driver, Sizwe Ngcobo was last seen on Saturday, 23 March.

With the help of the tracking company, his car, a silver grey Polo Vivo was recovered in Balfour, in the Mpumalanga province.

“A case of carjacking was opened at Balfour SAPS and the vehicle was also recovered in Balfour. A missing person enquiry was opened at Pinetown SAPS,” said Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele.

According to Manqele, Sizwe was last seen at Highland Hills in Farningham Ridge by his friend. “He was wearing a black and gold round neck t-shirt and light blue denim jeans and beach thongs on his feet.”
