“We are also proud of our ongoing Palmiet River monitoring and the Grade 3 ‘Kater Cook’ curriculum in which the learners prepare their own healthy foods,” said DSD marketer, Hannah Mangenda.

“Nomfundo Ndlovu, from the KZN WESSA Eco-Schools Assessment Team, gave high praise in her report which read: ‘The outreach and community involvement at your relatively small school is astounding and lovely to see. It is incredible that you have been monitoring the Palmiet River for three years now. We love the 50 Club Challenge which encourages learners to develop a habit and passion for running and exercise’.”

Mangenda added the school is proud to be involved with the WESSA Eco-Schools’ initiative and love how their learners take full advantage of the opportunities presented to learn about caring for society and the environment.
