Pour your support into Mugs and Mallow project

If you have any spare, good quality mugs at home, consider donating them to The Robin Hood Foundation's Mugs and Mallow project.

DETERMINED to pour goodness and kindness into the world, loving mom and cancer survivor, Sharleigh Wilken, aims to collect more than 200 ceramic cups for The Robin Hood Foundation’s Mugs and Mallows initiative.

Sharleigh took on the role of an ambassador for both the Sunflower Fund and the Pink Phoenix foundation after she survived leukemia.

“I love being involved in all of their events, but working full time for Garlicke and Bousfield attorneys I felt sad that I did not have the capacity to be as involved as I would like to,” she said.

“We all want to give in some way or another,” she continued. “I have been so blessed by so many people in my life and at the start of 2019 I sat and thought how I could continue to give to others and, in my own little way, make someone else’s day.”

She immediately tapped into her network in the Durban North and Hillcrest communities and asked them to assist with her drive for The Robin Hood Foundation’s Easter initiative.

“I am very close to my grandmother, Rosemary Hare-bowers, and visit her as much as I can at her home in the Eastern Cape. I love spending time listening to the elderly and gain much inspiration from their wisdom. The fact that we can bless the residents in old age homes during Easter with a beautiful mug, and perhaps even collect enough for the children who need a blessing to, this is what fills my cup,” said Sharleigh.

The avid supporter said she collected 123 mugs and hopes to reach 200 mugs before the cut off date. Badger Display Specialists will donate the three Easter eggs per mug that is donated towards Sharleigh’s drive. Contact Sharleigh, via WhatsApp, on 083 364 2295 to donate your mugs.

Or, you can support this campaign by donating good quality pre-loved or new plastic/ceramic mugs, Easter eggs or R20 to help spread smiles this Easter.
