Many members take time off from their companies, give up valuable family time to patrol and also take care of their travelling costs.

Neighbourhood watches together with the SAPS banded together to patrol the Westville area during a school gala on Friday, 15 February and that resulted in no vehicles being stolen.

“A big thank you to our SAPS members and community members who give of their valuable time to volunteer. Our patrollers give up much to volunteer to keep our community safe,” said Westville CPF communications officer, Liesel Muhl.

According to Muhl, many members take time off from their companies, give up valuable family time to patrol and also take care of their travelling costs.

“We urge the community to either get involved by volunteering or by donating to the CPF.

“You will find us at most of the community or school events patrolling. Come and say hi and introduce yourselves, we would love to get to know our neighbours better,” said Muhl.
