According to Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, Konrad Jones from Netcare Rescue 911 assessed the patient’s condition and it was decided the woman had to be transported to hospital with a helicopter.

“Once the patient had been stabilised she was carried to a place of safety while waiting for the helicopter to arrive. Thank you to everyone involved from Netcare 911 RescueTech, Meditech who was also put on standby as well as patrollers from the Glen Park and Moseley area,” said Mathios.

Once the woman had been airlifted, the pet rescue Pinetown group, who were central to the search for the missing dog, continued with the search.
