Prepare for your future at expo

The expo is aimed at primary, middle and high school learners and offers an array of advice across the three categories.

EXCITEMENT continues to build for the High School Career Expo at the Pavilion Shopping Centre from 8 to 9 February from 9am to 5pm each day.

The exhibition, in association with SABC Education, is designed to provide both primary and middle school learners with opportunities and guidance on how to choose a high school and select their subjects.

For the older teenagers, it is also designed to assist and equip the youth with the necessary tools to succeed in high school, tertiary education and beyond.

“The High School Career Expo targets thousands of young individuals from all walks of life, as well as their parents, education institutions, private sector businesses and even government officials,” said Heidi Garbade from the High School Career Expo.

She added, “All primary, middle and high school children and parents can learn more about the public and private high schools including special programmes, extracurricular activities and admissions criteria. You can find out which high school is most suitable for your child’s future.”

Prospective students will be able to meet with representatives from a wide range of universities, technikons, colleges and other tertiary institutions.

“They will gain insight and career advice from leading field specialists to better understand the expectations and roles of their potential professions,” said Heidi.

Students can also learn how to secure student loans as well as bursaries. They will also receive advice on how to manage finances when living away from home, should learners choose to take a gap year.
