‘Knit’ your average appeal

If you have any spare wool at home or are a keen knitter, make your way on over to the Kloof Library and support this worthy cause.

A GROUP of talented and caring women, who form the Kloof Library Knit and Natters, appeals to the Highway community to donate wool for the group’s outreach projects.

The group, which started about two years ago with three members, is 15 members strong and meets at the Kloof Library each Friday from 9am until noon.

Each charming lady knits an assortment of Teddy bears, jerseys, booties, blankets, hats and beanies. These lovingly crafted items are then donated to various orphanages and government hospitals across the Durban area.

“We would really like wool and yarn donations (double knit or four-ply) or, if there is anyone that would like to knit for us, knitted goods can be dropped off with us,” said the group’s Linda Winfield.

Everything knitted by the members is posted on the Facebook page, Yarn Comforts.

Contact Linda on 082 851 2554 or Michelle on 083 289 1574.
