Pinelands Community Church reaches out to community

The church was recently honoured to bless 30 underprivileged families.

LOCAL congregation, Pinelands Community Church (PCC), is dedicated to reaching out to the needy and run a series of outreach programmes throughout the year.

The church, situated in Caversham, celebrated 10 years last year and has been a pioneer of giving back since its inception.

Lead pastor, Daryl Moonsamy said, “Our vision is to uplift he community and make everyone a better person.”

The church has a thanksgiving basket and its donated contents are used to assist families in need.

“The box is there for anyone to drop off items and for members who need anything like food, to find it and not leave the place without,” said the caring pastor.

The church was recently honoured to bless 30 underprivileged families with a Christmas party and wellness day.

Families were blessed with a meal, gifts and a food hamper to take home. Children were entertained by Metro Police horses, dances and a brass band. SAPS and Childline educated the community on crime awareness and women and child abuse.

The church would thanked its major sponsors, SAPS, Metro Police, Childline, Clive Msomi, Vernon Caterers, Knowles SuperSPAR, Coco-Cola ABI and Siyaya Hydrolices and SAPS project manager women’s network and PCC outreach leader, Jennifer Naidu.
