“The Hillcrest station has been in existence for 75 years and was in need of a revamp. We approached the Hillcrest CPF chairman, Steven King, and, together with sponsors, they fixed the gate, painted the cells and cleaned the gardens.

“We really want to extend our gratitude to Steven King and his team; the work is far from over, this is just a start,” said Joseph.

Joseph also urged the police to be in the front-line and commended the neighbourhood watches for their involvement in fighting crime.

“Hillcrest has been a problematic area and we need to put a stop to that,” he said.

King reminded the CPFs and the neighbourhood watches that their job is to be the eyes and ears of the community and not to fight and criticise police.

“We salute police officers for their sacrifices to protect citizens, so many of them have lost their lives in the line of duty,” he said.
