16 injured as taxi overturns in Westmead

The cause of the accident is unclear and police are currently on scene to investigate.

SIXTEEN people have been injured in a serious taxi accident on the corner of Trafford and Richmond roads in Westmead.

Rescue Care Paramedics operations director, Garrith Jamieson arrived at the scene just after 1.45pm and said, “The driver of the taxi somehow lost control and the taxi overturned ejecting some of the occupants. Sixteen people were injured. They were all stabilised on scene and are currently on the way to hospital,” said Jamieson.

Police are currently on scene to investigate the cause of the accident.

The 16 people were stabilised on scene and transported to hospital.
