New Germany church promotes cleanliness

The senior pastor at the church, Mam Thandie Ngonelo said it is everyone's duty to clean their surroundings.

ACT of Obedience Ministries, a New Germany-based church, situated in Qashana Khuzwayo Road (Shepstone Road), is continuing with its venture to keep the streets clean.

The congregation never starts church without picking up litter from the street around the church.

Recently, they cleaned up from the church to the areas around the BP garage and Chelsea SPAR.

The clean up project is managed by the oldest member of the church, Chelsea SPAR (76).

The church senior pastor, Mam Thandie Ngonelo, who is also former educator and principal, motivational speaker, beauty queen and living legend among other things, wishes everyone can practise the norm of cleanliness.

The Westville resident also adopted a spot in Essex Terrace Road which she cleans and paints regularly.

The environmentalist said it is everyone’s duty to clean their surroundings as it human beings who make the areas dirty. “I wish children could be taught at a younger age to be clean and not litter,” added Ngonelo.
