Three killed in two separate accidents

Three people have been killed this weekend in two separate accidents, leaving six others injured.

Two people, a man and woman were killed this morning when the car they were in overturned on the M19, Durban bound after the Blair Atholl off-ramp around 6am.

Operations director at Rescue Care Paramedics, Garrith Jamieson said the two occupants sustained major injuries and were declared dead on scene.

The two others sustained moderate injuries.

In a separate accident, a man in his 20s was killed and four others critically injured when they were hit by a car along Old Main Road, Pinetown.

“Five people were sleeping under the bridge when a vehicle ploughed through a barrier and crashed into the group,” said Jamieson.

“One man was declared dead on scene. The other four were treated by Advanced Life Support paramedics and taken to hospital,” added Jamieson.
