Fly away Paul and welcome Clint

CROW is bidding farewell to the director they have had for the past two years and welcoming Clint Halknett-Siddall to the organisation.

CROW (The Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife) bids director, Paul Hoyte, farewell and welcomes a new director, Clint Halkett-Siddall.
Hoyte, who has worked for CROW for six years, the last two as the director, started in the marketing department.
“He has steered the organisation through good and tough times and had an incredible impact. Through Paul’s leadership, CROW has continued to grow in its mission to rescue, rehabilitate and release many injured, orphaned or displaced wildlife,” said Lana Bartholomew, the marketing and communications officer.

“New director, Halkett-Siddall’s love for animals and nature started from a young age,” said Bartholomew.
He completed his B-Tech at honours level in nature conservation.
He has worked extensively in the conservation field where his role was to establish and manage protected areas on community land, to link with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife reserves and the greater Usuthu-Tembi-Futi Transfonteer conservation area.
During his six years in Northern Maputaland, he took on the roles of project management and conservation management coordinator.
For the last seven years, Halkett-Siddall has also run his own company specialising in everything to do with reptiles; from reptile education, removal of problem reptiles, reptile quarantine, import and export, breeding as well as reptile food and husbandry.

“I am privileged to be working in this prestigious organisation and I look forward to the work ahead with the rest of the team by my side. Our plan is to grow public awareness and support emphasising the importance of maintaining the balance of nature and our responsibilities in conserving the unique animal species that we have in our country. Education is vital to conservation and we are dedicated to our school programmes as well as our open days to the general public to get this message across.” said Halkett-Siddall.
Bartholomew said the team at CROW are looking forward to working alongside him.
