Kloof SPCA stalwart’s compassionate legacy lives on

A memorial service will be held for Tersia Taskes at the Kloof and Highway SPCA on Friday, 18 January at 2pm.

TERSIA Taskes, a beloved member of the Highway community, passed away on 10 January.

The Kloof and Highway SPCA staff, volunteers and animals are devastated and saddened that our much loved Tersia, an animal lover, special friend and ex-colleague, has passed away.

Tersia spent many happy years visiting our SPCA, almost daily, and then working in our tea garden and marketing department.

During this time her love of animals made such a huge difference in so many animals’ lives, no matter if it were a small frog, a baby bird, dogs, goats or her favourites, our pigs.

She so loved our Wilbur and Charlotte and they loved her to. They used to come running at the sound of her voice.Demi, our resident SPCA dog, was always loved by Tersia and was kissed on the head by her daily.

The Kloof and Highway SPCA was always a ‘happy’ place for Tersia. Everyone who worked, volunteered or visited our SPCA was always welcomed by her, and left feeling happier after seeing her.

I believe that Tersia has left a legacy at our SPCA, in our community and wherever she went. Although we may not hear her beautiful voice, her happy laughter, see her gorgeous smile or be touched by her kindness – she is everywhere.

Sadly, Tersia has left us all too soon and too young, but we all know that she will never ever be forgotten. Rest in peace Tersia. You were extra special and one in a gazillion, thank you for being you and for your kindness. We love you and miss you so much already. – Barbara Patrick
