Although, it’s nowhere near as much fun as putting your tree up, taking it down does not have to be a bothersome task.

Here are some easy tips to remember when dismantling your Christmas tree:

  1. Begin by working backwards, removing the items that were put last on the tree.
  2. If anything was arranged at the bottom of the tree, start by removing those first and packing it away.
  3. This way, when you need to put up the tree next year, all the decorations will be in order as they need to be put up.
  4. Don’t let the lights become tangled. When removing the lights, make sure you roll the cords up neatly around your arm and secure it by using cables ties or rope. This will eliminate any frustration for the following year when you need to put the Christmas tree up.
  5. It’s also worth wrapping fragile Christmas ornaments in tissue paper before storage – and, of course, coiling the lights in neat circles around your arm.

Flatten each branch of the artificial tree.
