The Grade 4 Thomas Moore College learner lives in Kloof and is mad about cats which is why she decided to write about them.

“I’m a cat person and I thought I should do a simple book and thought why not about cats?”

In the first book, the cat had to do tasks to become royal and in one of the storie,s the princess had a problem with mice and asked the cat to chase all the mice away and if he completed all the tasks, he would be accepted into the royal house.

“Both books are inspired by cats I own, Gorgeous and Darsy and I have seven cats in total,” she said.

The two stories in Adventures of Cats are true stories and the story in The Royal Cats is pure fiction.

Ciara loves cats so much that for her birthday instead of gifts, she has asked her friends and family to donate cat food for Kitten Action who rescues feral and abandoned kittens and cares for them until they are old enough to go to permanent homes.

Even though her first two books have been about cats, Ciara said she might change what she writes about in the future. She has a twin brother and she thinks it would be a great idea to write about what its like to have a twin.

Ciara said that writing helps her a lot in school with English and allows her to use her imagination even more. Her friends were excited to read her books especially after her teacher read from a book in class.

Keats-Morrison guided Ciara with writing her first book since she was a student of the Dancing Pencils Writing Club. According to Keats-Morrison, Ciara is a success, she excelled almost immediately after she joined Dancing Pencils.

She joined the Treaven Dancing Pencils Writing Club a few years ago in Malvern.

When she is not writing, Ciara enjoys cooking and drawing and when she is older she would love to be an artist and open a restaurant with her twin brother.
